Dr. Janet Grimes is an Associate Professor of Small Animal Surgery at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She holds a DVM from University of Georgia (2010, summa cum laude), an MS from Auburn University (2014), and completed surgical residencies at Auburn and Texas A&M. Previously, she served as Chief of Companion Animal Surgery at Louisiana State University.
Her research focuses on surgical oncology, particularly canine hemangiosarcoma pathogenesis and the role of microRNA in tumor progression. Additional interests include surgical complications, gastrointestinal emergencies, and novel cancer therapies.
