Jane Smith is a Professor of English and Director of the Winthrop Writing Center at Winthrop University. She holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in English from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Her teaching focuses on writing classes such as first-year composition, non-fiction creative essay, composition pedagogy, tutoring pedagogy, and rhetorical theory.
Dr. Smith’s research explores how contextual factors influence writing abilities and pedagogical approaches to improve writing instruction and tutoring.
