Dr. Jane Roberts is an Instructor II and Coordinating Chair for Social Work and the MSW program at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus. She is affiliated with the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences and chairs the Duvall Family Studies Initiative.
Education:
- PhD in Gerontology from Virginia Tech
Research Interests: Dr. Roberts focuses on age bias, prejudicial views toward older adults, familial and environmental influences on caregiving, and socio-cultural aspects of hoarding behaviors. Her work also explores attachment-related clinical treatment methodologies.
Publications & Presentations: Recent articles highlight her expertise in hoarding behaviors, caregiving stress, and cultural influences on cancer treatment decisions among Latinos. Keywords span gerontology, clinical social work, and therapeutic interventions.
