Jane Newland

Jane Newland is an Associate Professor in French and Chair of the Department of Languages and Literatures at Wilfrid Laurier University's Faculty of Arts in Waterloo, Ontario. She holds a PhD from the University of Southampton (UK) and contributes to critical theory, children's literature studies, and French intellectual history.

Her research focuses on 20th-century French thought and Gilles Deleuze's influence on literary analysis, particularly in examining temporalities, rhizomatic structures, and philosophical frameworks within French and European children's literature. Recent publications explore Deleuzian concepts in series fiction and the evolution of youth literature through poststructuralist lenses.
