Jane Lynch is a Lecturer and Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Anthropology at Yale University. Her research focuses on economic anthropology with expertise in South Asia, examining corporate social responsibility, artisanal manufacturing, material culture, and ethical commerce. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in Social Science from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in Anthropology from Columbia University.

Her current book project, Goods and Goodness: Ethical Practices in India’s Artisanal Textile Industry, explores tensions in India’s textile industry through ethnographic methods. Supported by Fulbright and Wenner-Gren Foundation fellowships, her fieldwork spans textile markets, corporate meetings, and weaving towns. She teaches courses on ethnographic methods, corporate-community dynamics, and South Asian political economy.
Recent publications analyze post-liberalization India’s corporate governance models in the textile sector. Her work bridges ethical practices with commercial transactions, emphasizing material culture and institutional frameworks.
