Jane Johnson is an ARC Future Fellow at Macquarie University, affiliated with the School of Humanities Ethics and Agency Research Centre. Her work bridges philosophy, ethics, and applied science, focusing on vulnerable populations in research and healthcare contexts.
Her research spans three core areas: (1) Reconceptualizing animal ethics and epistemology to improve nonhuman animal treatment in research, (2) Addressing ethical challenges in surgical innovation to enhance patient care, and (3) Advancing One Health approaches for emerging infectious diseases. She has led major projects like 'INCISIVE' (surgical innovation ethics) and 'Animals as Patients.'
