Professor Jane Elliott is a Visiting Professor at the International Inequalities Institute, London School of Economics. Her work focuses on gender inequality, longitudinal analysis, and mixed-methods research. She leads the ESRC-funded 'UK Voices' project, which develops data infrastructure to study social change impacts. Previously, she was a Professor of Sociology at the University of Exeter and Chief Executive of the Economic and Social Research Council (2014–2017). She directed the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (2009–2014), managing UK birth cohort studies.
Education: PhD in Sociology from the University of Manchester; BA in Mathematics and Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
Research expertise includes combining qualitative/quantitative methods and data infrastructure. She is fluent in English, French, and Italian.
