Dr. Jane Dodsworth is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at the University of East Anglia's School of Social Work and a Visiting Researcher affiliated with the Centre for Research on Children and Families. She previously served as Inter-Agency Development Officer for Norfolk ACPC and has extensive social work experience in children and family services. Currently, she directs the BA and MA Social Work Programmes and teaches modules including Preparation for Practice and Children & Families units.
Her research focuses on child sexual exploitation (CSE), risk/protective factors, agency among sex workers, and systemic issues affecting marginalized youth. Notable projects include analyses of serious case reviews, evaluations of interventions targeting CSE, and studies on LGBT youth in care. Her doctoral work explored narratives of women in sex work, emphasizing 'secure base' interventions.
Professional collaborations include projects with Norfolk & Suffolk Constabulary and the Department for Education. Her work spans qualitative studies, policy development, and multi-agency collaboration to address vulnerabilities in child protection systems.
