Jane Caputi

Jane Caputi is a Professor in the Department of Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Florida Atlantic University. Her research centers on contemporary American culture, emphasizing gender violence, ecofeminism, and environmental justice. She holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from Bowling Green State University.

Dr. Caputi has authored four influential books and two documentaries. Her curated exhibits, such as Political Circus 2008 and Political Pandemonium, critique political pop culture. She received multiple honors, including:

• Feminist of the Year (2013)
• Eminent Scholar of the Year (2016)
• Saga Award (2020)

She is currently co-editing a journal issue on Zora Neale Hurston Studies following her participation in a 2021 NEH Institute.
