Jane Atkins

Jane Atkins is a Chamber Music Tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and teaches at St Mary’s School of Music. She is a renowned violist with a career spanning diverse genres including Baroque, Contemporary, Dance, and Jazz. Her affiliations include roles as Principal Viola in the Chamber Orchestra of Europe (2008–present) and solo performances with prestigious orchestras such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

Research & Performance Focus: Dedicated to expanding the viola repertoire through commissions by composers like Diana Burrell and John McLeod.
