Jana Hunzicker

Dr. Jana Hunzicker is a full Professor at Bradley University’s College of Education & Health Sciences, where she serves as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. She earned her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois State University (2006), an M.A. in Educational Administration from Bradley University (1994), and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Bradley University (1989).

Dr. Hunzicker’s research focuses on teacher leadership, higher education leadership, and professional development. She has authored over 75 refereed journal articles, book chapters, and practitioner-based works. Her notable publications include the NAPDS-endorsed book Teacher Leadership in Professional Development Schools and the guest-edited special issue of School-University Partnerships on teacher leadership’s impact on student learning. She also developed practical resources like the Characteristics of Effective Professional Development Checklist and the Five Features of Teacher Leadership Framework.

Dr. Hunzicker actively contributes to academic and community service, including roles as Secretary for the international Association of Teacher Leadership and Scholarship (ATLAS) and on the Washington Township United Fund board. Her accolades include multiple Bradley University awards for teaching, research, and service.
