Jan Pedersen

Jan Pedersen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Aarhus University, and a member of the Stochastics research group. His academic career began with a PhD from Aarhus University in 1996, followed by a postdoctoral position at Humboldt University in Berlin and professional experience as an actuary in Copenhagen.

His research focuses on statistics and probability theory, particularly stochastic processes, Lévy processes, and survival analysis. He teaches advanced courses in stochastic processes, statistical inference, and survival analysis, often supervising bachelor's and master's students in collaboration with companies.

Pedersen has held leadership roles as head of the Master's programme in statistics and the bachelor's programme in mathematics and economics. He has actively participated in academic activities, including evaluation committees, conferences, and workshops, such as the Workshop on ambit stochastics (2012) and the Symposium of Probability and Stochastic Processes (2014).
