About
Jan Griebel is a Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Surface Modification (IOM) in Leipzig, Germany, where he leads the cross-departmental unit "Material Characterization and Analytics" since 2021. He oversees analytical services including NMR/EPR spectroscopy and chromatography. Previously, he held scientific roles at IOM (2015–2020) and Universität Leipzig (2002–2014), where he completed his Diploma in Chemistry.
His research integrates analytical chemistry with materials science, focusing on:
- Advanced spectroscopy (NMR, EPR) and chromatography techniques
- Surface modification and nanomaterial characterization
- Environmental pollutant degradation
- Biomedical applications of photodynamic therapies
His recent publications (2018–2020) demonstrate interdisciplinary work spanning environmental remediation, cancer therapeutics, conductive nanomaterials, and thin-film optics. Research consistently applies analytical methods to solve challenges in materials science and biomedicine.
He leads IOM's central analytics unit, coordinating instrumentation and methodology across research departments.
