Jan-Cees van der Meer

Jan-Cees van der Meer is an Assistant Professor in the Applied Analysis group at Eindhoven University of Technology's Mathematics Department since 1986. His research focuses on geometric mechanics, particularly nonlinear Hamiltonian systems and their applications to classical and celestial mechanics.

His academic background includes a PhD from Utrecht University (1985), preceded by a BSc and MSc in Mathematics. He has held visiting positions at ETH Zurich (1985), CWI Amsterdam (1985-1986), University of Houston (1987), Universidad de Murcia (2008-2009), and Universidad del Bio-Bio (2017).
