Jan Carlsson

Jan Carlsson serves as an Adjunct Professor in Computational Electromagnetics at Chalmers University of Technology, affiliated with the Antennas research group. He concurrently holds the position of deputy director at CHASE (Chalmers Antenna Systems VINN EXcellence Centre) and acts as research leader for the EMC section within the electronics department at SP Swedish Institute of Technical Research.

His research program centers on computational electromagnetics with specialized focus areas including small electrical antennas, advanced measurement techniques for compact antenna systems, numerical modeling methods for electromagnetic analysis, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) solutions. This work bridges theoretical electromagnetics with practical engineering applications in antenna design and EMC testing.

Professionally, Dr. Carlsson maintains active industry engagement through his leadership roles, having previously chaired the Swedish IEEE EMC Chapter board from 2002 to 2004. His collaborative framework spans academic research at Chalmers and applied technical development at SP, driving innovation in antenna systems engineering.
