Jan-Arne Seep

Jan-Arne Seep serves as a Research Fellow at the University of Rostock's Department of School Pedagogy with a focus on school research and general didactics within the Institute for School Pedagogy and Educational Research, a position held since 2025. Concurrently, he teaches mathematics and physics at the CJD Gymnasium Rostock since 2023, demonstrating dual engagement in academic research and secondary education.

His educational foundation includes a secondary school teaching degree in mathematics and physics at the University of Rostock (2016-2021), culminating in the first state examination. This was followed by a legal traineeship at the CJD Gymnasium Rostock (2021-2023), where he completed the second state examination.

Seep's research centers on science education pedagogy, specifically investigating how university junior study programs influence secondary students' conceptions of the Nature of Science and scientific inquiry. His doctoral project under Prof. Radisch examines these cognitive shifts, complemented by curriculum development work such as creating video-based physics lectures for junior students. Professional activities since 2019 include supporting university courses in Experimental Physics and Media Education.
