Jan Aart Scholte is Professor of Global Transformations and Governance Challenges at Leiden University, with joint appointments in the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences and the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs. He leads Leiden’s interfaculty GTGC programme, focusing on global governance dynamics.
- Research Interests: Globalization, polycentric governance, legitimacy in international systems, global democracy, civil society, and Internet governance.
