Jamila Kassam

Jamila Kassam serves as Academic Strategic Lead at the Centre for Bone and Joint Health within the Blizard Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. She joined the Centre in 2020, where she develops and operationalizes research strategy while overseeing the group's research program through collaboration with local and international colleagues.

Her educational background includes a research Masters from Imperial College London, completed with the support of a Medical Research Council scholarship. Prior clinical experience includes specialization in orthopaedic physiotherapy at Barts Health NHS Trust.

Her research focuses on translating clinical orthopaedic practice into public health impact, with emphasis on bone and joint health systems, musculoskeletal research infrastructure, and inclusive workspace development. She bridges clinical physiotherapy expertise with population-level health strategy through collaborative research frameworks.
