Jamie Sims

Jamie Sims is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Sport, Nutrition and Allied Health Professions at Oxford Brookes University. With qualifications including a DPhil from Oxford and multiple MSc and BSc degrees, Sims specializes in behavioural epidemiology, focusing on public health interventions for non-communicable diseases like type 2 diabetes.

Research interests include:

• Epidemiology of health behaviours
• Environmental impacts on well-being
• Greenspaces and blue spaces
• Healthy placemaking through built environment design

Selected publications examine topics like AAS use and pandemic health risks, environmental health disparities, and childhood physical activity interventions. Sims also serves as Deputy Research Ethics Officer for the School of Health and Life Sciences and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
