Jamie Larsen

Jamie Larsen is a Researcher and Director of the Professional Writing Program in the Department of English at NC State University. She focuses on workplace communication practices and technical/professional communication training, with extensive international collaborations.

Education:

• M.S. in Technical Communication, NC State University (1993)
• B.A. in Managerial Studies, Rice University (1979)

Her research spans 20 years of analyzing professional communication dynamics through co-authored iterations of the Communication in the Workplace report. She led the Essentials of Technical Communication program in Fall 2024, collaborating with Nagoya University students, and has previously taught technical communication in China, Taiwan, and Saudi Arabia.

Jamie contributes to academic advising as a Pack Promise Coach and participates in scholarship reviews for Study Abroad and Goodnight programs. She is affiliated with the Department of English Faculty at NC State University.
