Jamie Hickner

Jamie Hickner is a Lecturer and Anisfield-Wolf Teaching Fellow in English at Case Western Reserve University. She holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from Purdue University along with an M.A. in English, B.A. in English/Political Science, and M.U.P. from NYU.

Her scholarship examines race, transnationalism, and cultural production through:

• African diaspora literary traditions
• Intersections of race and educational policy
• Anisfield-Wolf Book Award archives
• Pedagogical approaches to equity

Current projects include editing a pedagogy collection on Anisfield-Wolf authors and developing research on transnational African writers. She previously taught at Southern Oregon University and international schools, with administrative experience in bridge programs and teacher training.
