Jamie Halsall

Jamie Halsall is a Reader in Social Sciences at the University of Huddersfield, affiliated with the Department of Social and Psychological Sciences in the School of Human and Health Sciences. He is a core member of the Centre for Citizenship, Conflict, Identity and Diversity and currently serves as the Director of Graduate Education, overseeing all postgraduate research programs in the School. He joined the university in 2008 and has held various leadership roles, including Academic Leader for International and Teaching Excellence Framework, and Subject Leader in Sociology and Social Policy.

He has published extensively in high-impact journals and books, exploring themes such as social innovation, refugee housing, and evidence-informed policymaking. His recent publications reflect a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship education, social enterprise as a driver of economic growth, and inclusion in public services.

His research output shows a consistent trajectory of scholarly productivity, with a focus on interdisciplinary social science, public policy applications, and global development contexts. He frequently engages in invited talks, keynotes, and media contributions, highlighting the societal impact of his work. Notably, his recent articles examine refugee integration, LGBTQ+ inclusion in the NHS, and women's social entrepreneurship in India.
