James de Lemos is Professor and Chief of Cardiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His research focuses on cardiovascular risk assessment, early disease detection, and biomarker applications, with leadership in the Dallas Heart Study—a multiethnic cohort of 6,000+ adults. He holds the Sweetheart Ball-Kern Wildenthal Distinguished Chair in Cardiology.
Research examines troponin applications, statin therapy outcomes, and cardiovascular risk stratification. Recent publications address troponin in endocarditis, statin-associated diabetes risk, and BNP in acute coronary syndromes.
