James Wallace is a Professor at the University of Waterloo's School of Public Health Sciences. His research focuses on enabling people to interpret and interact with healthcare data through Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) methodologies. He designs Health Informatics systems and evaluates their real-world impact in healthcare settings.
Education: BMath in Computer Science (University of Waterloo), MCSc in Human-Computer Interaction (Dalhousie University), PhD in Systems Design Engineering (University of Waterloo), and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Cheriton School of Computer Science (University of Waterloo).
Teaching interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Information Visualization, and Health Informatics. He leads the Human-Computer Interaction and Health Lab and is affiliated with the Cheriton School of Computer Science. Currently supervises graduate students in areas like HCI, CSCW, and healthcare technology.
