James W. Moore is an Assistant Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and Director of the Master of Science in Pathologists’ Assistant (PathA) Program at Drexel University College of Medicine. He has been with the institution since 2003, initially as Co-Director and currently leading the PathA program, contributing to both academic and clinical training of students.
Education: Mr. Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Gettysburg College (1980) and a Master of Health Science in Pathologists’ Assistant from Quinnipiac University (1982).
Research & Professional Background: Since 1982, he has worked as a Pathologists’ Assistant in prominent institutions including The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, York Hospital, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Reading Hospital and Medical Center, A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children, and Monmouth Medical Center. His expertise spans surgical and autopsy pathology, clinical training, and laboratory management.
Professional Affiliations: He is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and actively engages with professional bodies such as the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants (AAPA), where he has held leadership roles (Vice-President, President, and Board Chair), and the Association of Pathologists’ Assistant Training Programs (APATP). From 2016 to 2019, he served on the NAACLS Board of Directors.
