James Stiles is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Kansas School of Engineering. He holds a BSEE from the University of Missouri (1983), MSEE from Southern Methodist University (1987), and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (1996). His research focuses on electromagnetic sensing with emphasis on radar systems.
Dr. Stiles investigates radar remote sensing, microwave receiver design, and waveform optimization. His recent publications focus on efficient radar signal processing and information-theoretic approaches to waveform design. Prior to academia, he designed microwave systems at Texas Instruments (Raytheon).
