James Samstad

James Samstad is a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at San Diego State University since 2006. His research focuses on comparative politics, Latin American politics, economic development, and international relations. He holds a Ph.D. and B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and an A.M. from Stanford University.

He has taught at multiple institutions, including UC San Diego, Brown University, UC Irvine, and the Colegio de la Frontera Norte in Tijuana. His work has been published in journals such as World Development and Latin American Politics and Society.
