Dr. James Rohan is a CONNECT Centre Funded Investigator at the Tyndall National Institute. With over 25 years of experience in research and development, he leads the Electrochemical Materials and Energy research group. Previously, he served as a senior scientist at EIC Laboratories in the US, focusing on lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. He has secured €10 million in research funding and led or co-led 75+ research programs.

Leadership and Contributions

He organized and chaired the International Symposium on Electrodeposition for Micro-and Nano-Battery Materials at the 225th Electrochemical Society Meeting. His academic output includes over 40 journal papers, 80+ conference presentations, 7 patents, and editorial contributions to conference proceedings and a special issue.
