James R. Langabeer II

James R. Langabeer II is a tenured Professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston with joint appointments in McGovern Medical School, UT School of Public Health, and School of Biomedical Informatics. His clinical interests include Emergency Cardiovascular Care, Substance Use Disorders, and Emergency Medical Systems, while his research spans Population Health, Opioids, and Telemedicine.

His research focuses on addressing public health crises, particularly through the Houston Emergency Opioid Engagement System (HEROES), a large-scale clinical trial funded by HHSC, CDC, and AHA.
