James Newton serves as the Interim Program Coordinator and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling within the College of Education and Professional Studies at Fort Valley State University (FVSU). He directs the School Counselor Education programs, which include the Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) and Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) degrees, preparing students for careers in school-based counseling environments.
His research and professional expertise spans Rehabilitation Counseling, School Counseling, Clinical Counseling, and Counselor Education, with emphasis on:
