James Mosley is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication at the University of Reading. He previously served as Librarian of the St Bride Library in London until 2000 and has extensive hands-on experience in printing and type design, including work at the Water Lane Press and Stevens, Shanks typefoundry. His scholarly contributions include founding the Journal of the Printing Historical Society and writing on the history of printing types and letter forms.

James Mosley specializes in the history of typography, lettering design, and printing heritage, with a focus on pre-20th-century type production and letterform evolution.
