James Moran

James Moran serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at Monmouth University's School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Concurrently, he works as a Behavior Scientist at Johnson & Johnson, applying his expertise in health and social psychology to industry challenges.

His academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology from Tulane University.

Dr. Moran's research program investigates the complex interplay between health threats and social behavior. Specifically, he examines how the perceived risk of infectious diseases, experiences of singlehood, and patterns of alcohol consumption shape interpersonal relationship dynamics. His work integrates theoretical frameworks from health psychology and social psychology to address real-world behavioral health challenges.

His scientific achievements have been recognized through:

Dr. Moran has extensive teaching experience including graduate-level instruction. He has taught Evolutionary Psychology (PY 350) in multiple recent semesters (2024 Fall, 2025 Spring, 2025 Fall), along with Research Methods, Personality Psychology, and a graduate seminar in Behavioral Endocrinology.
