James E. Harvey is a retired Associate Professor of Optics and former Senior Research Staff Member at CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics, University of Central Florida (UCF). He currently works part-time as a Senior Optical Engineer at Photon Engineering, LLC in Tucson, AZ. His expertise spans diffraction theory, surface scatter phenomena, X-ray/EUV imaging systems, and optical properties of materials.

Research Interests:
Dr. Harvey has dedicated his career to advancing optical technologies, including work on NASA-sponsored astronomy programs (AXAF, FUSE, SXI, SUVI) and developing fabrication tolerances for image quality. His research encompasses adaptive optics, phased telescope arrays, wavefront sensing, and beam sampling technology.
