James D Long

James D. Long is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Washington and an Academy Scholar at Harvard's Academy for International and Area Studies. His research focuses on elections, governance, and development in fragile states.

• Research Interests: Electoral fraud, voting behavior, state-building, corruption monitoring via ICT, and public health in sub-Saharan Africa and Afghanistan.
• Awards: Fulbright Scholar, Jennings Randolph Peace Scholar, Harvard Academy Scholar, and IGCC Dissertation Fellow.
• Education: PhD in Political Science (UC San Diego), MSc in African Politics (SOAS, University of London), BA in International Relations and History (College of William & Mary).
