James Cook

James Cook is a Professor of Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2024. He holds an M.F.A. in Illustration from SCAD and a B.F.A. in Illustration from Southern Utah University. His professional career includes over two decades of experience in animation, illustration, and design. Prior to his current role, he served as an Adjunct Professor at Utah Tech University (2020–2024) and Southern Utah University (2015). He has also worked as an animator/designer at Walt Disney Company (1999–2009), a life drawing instructor at The Animation Guild (2006–2008), and an assistant penciller at Top Cow Productions (1992–1993). His expertise spans freelance illustration, animation, and educational roles in the visual arts.
