James Conley

James Conley is a Clinical Professor at Northwestern University, holding dual appointments at the Kellogg School of Management and the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science. He also serves as a visiting eminent professor at the University of Brunei and advises the Åbo Academy of Finland on innovation capacity and technology transfer infrastructure. His research focuses on the strategic use of intangible assets and intellectual properties to drive competitive advantage across developed and developing economies. This work involves novel analyses of public domain IP databases, influencing strategy, marketing, and technology sectors.

Since 2008, Conley has contributed to U.S. innovation policy through his role on the Department of Commerce Advisory Committee. He leads executive workshops to disseminate CRTI research findings and has published insights in academic journals and mainstream media like *The Wall Street Journal*.
