James Calder

James Calder is a Professor in the Department of Political Science and Geography at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where he has been a faculty member since 1979. He previously taught in the Department of Criminal Justice until 2006. His academic expertise spans security studies, federal justice policy, and political leadership in national and international contexts.

He has held administrative roles such as Interim Department Chairman and Associate Dean in the College of Public Policy. Dr. Calder is actively engaged with professional organizations like the Underwriters Laboratories Security Council, ASIS International Research Council, and the Association of Former Intelligence Officers.
