James C. Lester

James C. Lester is the Goodnight Distinguished University Professor in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at North Carolina State University. He serves as Director of the Center for Educational Informatics and the National Science Foundation AI Institute for Engaged Learning.

His work leverages cutting-edge technologies such as large language models and reinforcement learning to create adaptive educational systems.

Recent publications reveal trends in AI-driven educational technologies, with a focus on collaborative learning analytics, health behavior interventions, and elementary AI education.
