James A. Wisner

James A. Wisner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at The University of Western Ontario, Faculty of Science. His research focuses on supramolecular chemistry, including self-assembly, mechanically bonded molecules, and hydrogen-bonded materials. He leads the Wisner Research Group, which trains students in molecular synthesis, structural characterization, and supramolecular association techniques.

Research interests span the design of hydrogen-bonded double helices, interlocked molecular architectures (rotaxanes, catenanes), and anion receptors. Awards include an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship. Teaching includes advanced organic chemistry courses like Elucidation of Organic Mechanisms and Advanced NMR Spectroscopy.
