Jakub Adamek

Jakub Adamek is an Associate Professor and Head of the Chair of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland. He earned his Doctor of Fine Arts degree in 2008 under Prof. Antoni Cygan, focusing on animal imagery in art. His academic journey began at the Faculty of Graphic Art of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (Katowice branch), where he completed his diploma project City windows in 2001. His research interests span urban art, graphic design, and interdisciplinary approaches to visual communication. Adamek has been teaching since 2004, contributing to academic research and exhibitions such as the NOVART exhibition in 2002.

His work integrates traditional and modern techniques, as seen in his PhD project exploring animal themes and illusions in art. He actively participates in academic activities, including advising students and contributing to the Katowice Academy's artistic programs.
