Jakob Wested

Jakob Wested is an Associate Professor at the Center for Advanced Studies in Bioscience Innovation Law, Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on the legal frameworks governing advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), clinical trial regulation, and EU pharmaceutical policy.

• Education: cand.jur (LL.M.) and ba.fil (B.A. in Philosophy).

His work explores interdisciplinary intersections of law, technology, and healthcare, particularly addressing challenges in ATMP regulation, gender representation in clinical trials, and AI governance in health. He leads the EU-funded CREATIC project to establish an ATMP Center of Excellence in Brno, Czech Republic.

Recent publications highlight EU regulatory trends (GDPR, Medical Device Regulation, European Health Data Space) and their implications for equity in healthcare. He actively contributes to policy discussions through editorials and collaborations with the Danish Medicines Agency, Danish Health Authority, and international institutions.

Wested organizes conferences and workshops on health law, blockchain, and innovation systems. His research output includes reports, book chapters, and peer-reviewed articles analyzing the reconfiguration of EU health regulatory landscapes.
