Jakob Foerster is an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford's Department of Engineering Science and a Supernumerary Fellow at St Anne's College. He leads the FLAIR lab, focusing on multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL), human-AI coordination, and AI foundational research. Previously, he was a Research Scientist at Facebook AI Research (FAIR) and holds a DPhil from Oxford. His work has been cited over 5,000 times and includes seminal contributions like QMIX and the Hanabi Challenge.
