Jairaj Gupta is an Associate Professor in Accounting and Finance at the University of York, UK, since October 2021. His research focuses on the intersection of financial reporting, corporate governance, and societal impact, particularly through the lens of 'Dharma' in guiding firms toward socially optimal decisions. He investigates opportunistic business decisions, ESG mandates, bankruptcy resolution, and earnings management.
