Jaimelee Rizzo

Jaimelee Rizzo is a Professor and Department Associate Chair in the Department of Chemistry/Physical Sciences at Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, Pace University, New York City. She has taught organic and advanced organic chemistry for over two decades and leads research in antimicrobial and antiviral materials synthesis.

Her research focuses on the synthesis of antimicrobial surfaces, wound dressings, and polymers with applications in infection control and public health. She has secured significant external funding from Johnson & Johnson, U.S. Army, and Batelle for projects such as antibacterial membranes and antimicrobial action of DABCO polymers. Her work bridges chemistry, materials science, and biomedical applications.

Dr. Rizzo has been recognized with numerous honors, including being named a Fellow of the American Chemical Society and receiving the E. Ann Nalley Award. She holds multiple patents related to antimicrobial and antiviral technologies. She actively mentors students through research and independent study courses and serves in leadership roles across departments, colleges, and professional organizations, particularly within the American Chemical Society.
