Jaimee A. Swift is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at James Madison University (JMU). She holds a Ph.D. from Howard University's Political Science Department, with specializations in Black Politics, International Relations, and Comparative Politics. Her research focuses on Afro-Brazilian LGBTQ+ women's resistance against state and structural violence in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, particularly analyzing their movements against anti-Black and anti-LGBTQ+ violence since the 1980s.
