Jaime Reyes Gil is a Senior Lecturer (Adjunct) at the School of Architecture and Design of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Chile. He holds a PhD in Design from PUC Rio de Janeiro and a Master's in History from PUCV. He has served as director of the School's Master's program and currently chairs the "Seminar of the Americas." Since 2007, he has been the head of the José Vial Armstrong Historical Archive.

His artistic output spans sculpture, drawing, and watercolor, often created during the "Travesías" (crossings) he has participated in since 1988.
As an educator, Reyes Gil has supervised postgraduate theses and taught a wide range of courses including "Taller de Amereida," "Poética General," and "El dibujo como herramienta de conocimiento." He has been instrumental in developing the pedagogical approach of the School of Architecture and Design at PUCV, emphasizing the connection between poetic thinking and spatial practice.
Reyes Gil is deeply connected to the "Amereida" tradition, participating in over 30 "Travesías" (crossings) throughout Chile and South America since 1988. These expeditions form an important part of his pedagogical and artistic practice, connecting physical journeying with intellectual exploration. His current research projects focus on documenting cultural heritage through the "Patrimonio en Planos" and "Entre Páginas y Dibujos" initiatives.
