Jaime M. Pensado

Jaime M. Pensado is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of Notre Dame and a Fellow of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. He directs the Mexico Working Group and specializes in modern Mexican history, student politics, youth culture, and the Cold War era.

Pensado's research examines Catholic activism's influence on Mexican politics and counterculture, state repression during the Global Sixties, and youth radicalization. His publications include the award-winning 'Rebel Mexico' (2013) and co-edited volume 'México Beyond 1968'. He is currently analyzing youth activism through film perspectives.

His honors include the 2014 Mexico History Book Prize for 'Rebel Mexico' and Kellogg's Undergraduate Mentoring Award. Pensado leads multiple research projects on Catholic youth movements and frequently organizes academic workshops on Mexican history and politics.
