Jaewan Yoon

Jaewan Yoon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Old Dominion University (ODU), affiliated with the Batten College of Engineering and Technology. He holds a Ph.D. (1993), M.S. (1990), and B.S. (1984) in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University and Dongguk University, respectively.

• GIS-based Spatiotemporal Modeling (Hydrology, Estuaries, Coastal Systems)
• Geotechnical Data Management Systems for Transportation Infrastructure
• Water Resources Engineering (Nutrient Loading, Dispersion Modeling)

• Developed VDOT Geotechnical Database Management System (GDBMS) frameworks
• Pioneered MODIS-based chlorophyll a monitoring systems
• Advanced reservoir operational strategies research
