About
Jae Sung Yun is a Lecturer in Energy Technology at the University of Surrey, affiliated with the Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) and the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. He holds a BEng from Yonsei University (2008), an MPhil (2010) and PhD (2015) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), where he also conducted postdoctoral research and received an Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics Fellowship. His research focuses on nanoscale photovoltaics, semiconductor defect analysis using scanning probe microscopy (SPM), and advanced perovskite solar cell technologies.
- Roles: ATI monthly seminar organizer, ATI postgraduate seminar organizer, Athena Swan group member.
- Education: BEng (Materials Science & Engineering, Yonsei University), MPhil/PhD (UNSW).
His research interests include nanoscale electrical property analysis of defects in semiconductors, SPM-based defect visualization, and optimizing perovskite solar cell efficiency and stability. Recent work emphasizes hybrid materials, plasma-induced modifications, and indoor photovoltaic applications. He teaches modules on electrical science and engineering laboratories for undergraduate students.
Publications highlight contributions to perovskite solar cell interfaces, charge transport mechanisms, and material stability. His work spans 2025–2024 with a focus on energy technology and semiconductor innovation.
