Jae-Gil Lee is an Endowed Chair Professor at the School of Computing, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), with adjunct appointments at the Kim Jaechul Graduate School of AI and Graduate School of Data Science. He has served at KAIST since 2010, advancing from Assistant Professor to Full Professor in 2022, following postdoctoral roles at IBM Almaden Research Center and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Lee earned his Ph.D. from KAIST in 2005 under Prof. Kyu-Young Whang. His research spans Data-Centric AI, Deep Learning-Based Big Data Analysis, Mobility and Stream Data Mining, and Large-Scale Distributed Deep Learning, focusing on scalable techniques for dynamic data streams. His Data Mining Lab was designated a SW Star Lab by South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT in 2020.

His professional service includes Associate Editor roles for IEEE TKDE and Data and Knowledge Engineering, plus leadership in PAKDD, IEEE BigComp, and ACM KDD conferences.
